The New Hyundai Sonata

We compared it to the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord

Discover the New Hyundai Sonata

Meet Hyundai's mid-sized sedan that combines comfort, advanced technology, and high fuel economy ratings for an ideal commute. You'll find the new Hyundai Sonata at Bronco Motors Hyundai, but we want you to know how the show-stopping Hyundai Sonata compares to other top sedan competitors like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord.

Hyundai Sonata vs. Toyota Camry

Fit more into the Hyundai Sonata's 16 cubic-foot trunk, easily topping the Toyota Camry's 15.1 cubic-foot trunk. Toyota's sedan also has less passenger space (99.3) compared to the Hyundai Sonata's 104.4 cubic feet of passenger volume.

These mid-sized sedans earn identical fuel economy ratings driving on city streets at 28 miles per gallon. Toyota Camry hybrid cars earn 51 miles per gallon, compared to 52 miles per gallon in Hyundai Sonata hybrid cars.

The Toyota Camry's base engine, a 2.5-liter inline-4, only produces 184 horsepower, while the Hyundai Sonata's base engine, a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, outputs 191 ponies.

Toyota's touchscreen for infotainment is smaller, measuring seven inches to the 8-inch display for the Hyundai Sonata.

Hyundai Sonata vs. Honda Accord

Pay less at the pumps driving a Hyundai Sonata hybrid model, which earns up to 52 miles per gallon. Honda Accord's hybrid model maxes out at 48 miles per gallon.

The Hyundai Sonata is also more powerful, producing up to 290 horsepower with the 2.5-liter Turbo MPI/GDI 4-cylinder engine. Two other engines - a 2.5-liter MPI/GDI 4-cylinder and a 1.6-liter Turbo GDI 4-cylinder - deliver 191 and 180 horsepower, respectively. The Honda Accord's 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine outputs 192 horsepower. Honda's 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine delivering 252-horsepower can't come close to the Hyundai Sonata's most powerful engine.

The Hyundai Sonata sports a solar roof, while the Honda Accord counters with a power moonroof. Honda's sedan has LED low-beam headlights, while Hyundai's sedan has a superior lighting setup with standard LED headlights and Daytime Running Lights.

The Honda Sensing® and Hyundai SmartSense safety suites feature helpful driver assists, but the Honda Accord doesn't include a Driver Attention Warning like the Hyundai Sonata.

Both sedans include a standard 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay®/Android Auto™. The Hyundai Sonata includes the Bluelink® Connected Car System and a 12.3-inch fully digital gauge cluster, topping the Honda Accord's 7-inch Driver Information Interface.
